How the install worksYour HiLo is installed by Aquaworks, our local tank specialist. Once you’ve ordered, your install is booked in: the Aquaworks team calls you to arrange a time and fits the monitor. Installs are only available in the areas we deliver water to.
Plus HiLo’s mobile data plan, paid directly to HiLo: $10 a month + GST, billed yearly, with 10 text alerts a month included.

How it works: HiLo reads your tank level and sends it to your phone, and to us if you share it.

What you get

  • HiLo 4G cellular monitor: a New Zealand-developed radar gauge that sits on top of your tank and sends the level to the HiLo app over Spark or One NZ.
  • Installed for you by the team at Aquaworks, our local tank specialist, who also looks after the warranty. Your install is booked in as soon as you order.
  • Set up on your phone: check your level any time, and get a text when it’s getting low.
  • TankWatch top-ups: invite Matakana Water into your HiLo account and we can see when you’re low and book your water in.

HiLo says its monitors are waterproof (IP68), accurate to within 0.5%, suit tanks up to 3.5 m tall, and have a battery that lasts five years or more. See HiLo’s website.

Matakana TankWatch top-ups

Share your HiLo with us and we look after your water for you:

  1. We agree a top-up level with you, for example when your tank drops to 30%.
  2. We watch your level. You invite Matakana Water into your HiLo account, and your tank shows up in our own booking and delivery system, alongside your address, access notes and tank pin.
  3. When it reaches your level, we book your load and charge the card you’ve saved with us. No phone calls and no climbing ladders to check.
  4. We tell you about anything unusual. If we notice your level dropping much faster than normal, which could be a leak or a tap left running, we’ll let you know.

TankWatch members are first in line for their top-ups, and you can change your level, pause or stop any time. Tick the box below when you order, and we’ll set it up with you after your install.

Other options

For a house tank within WiFi range, there’s a HiLo WiFi monitor with no monthly fee. For tanks with no mobile coverage, there’s a satellite version. Got more than one tank, or a sloping or unusual roof? Ask us or call 021 223 3604 for a price.
